Vic: Nurses meet over Royal Children's Hospital ward closure

Nurses at Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital will meet today to discuss a restructure
they say will lead to the closure of a 24-bed ward and cuts to paediatric services.

The meeting will be the first of all Australian Nursing Federation members at the hospital
in more than six years.

ANF Victorian branch secretary LISA FITZPATRICK says the nurses are apprehensive the
restructure may be motivated by cost cutting at the expense of quality patient care.

The meeting will begin at 2.30pm (AEST).
