ASSEMBLYMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO BURGLARY ATTEMPT.(CAPITAL REGION)

GENESEO -- A state assemblyman accused of burglarizing a female aide's home agreed Thursday to a felony plea deal that ends his 28-year political career and puts him in jail for up to 12 months.

Jerry Johnson, 57, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted burglary and drew a six-month sentence. Under the plea agreement, Johnson also will plead guilty next week to a second attempted burglary count in return for another six-month sentence to be served after he completes his first sentence.
