Qld: Coalition to protect lifesavers from law suits

BRISBANE, Jan 21 AAP - Emergency service workers and lifesavers would be protected
from litigation under a proposal by the Queensland Coalition parties.

Opposition Leader Rob Borbidge said today if elected to government the Coalition would
extend legal protection to volunteers under "Good Samaritan" laws.

Volunteer lifesavers and emergency service workers last month spoke out against threats
of lawsuits over their actions and the directions they might give to the public.
