I WRITE regarding the new school to be built on playing fields inRedland. Both the sites that were considered for the new school,Stoke Lodge and Redland, are playing fields and should remain so.
The Redland field is well used as a sporting venue by children andadults even when it pelts down with rain, as it did last Saturday.
Schools (Fairfield and Colston's Girls and maybe others) use itduring the week and at weekends it is full of young children playingfootball matches and receiving football coaching. It is also used forrugby, cricket and tennis.
The site is not big enough to support a school and its recreation/playing facilities. Cotham School is already in …
